Privacy policy

This policy explains what data the Mom Grocery List (MGList) Android app uses, why, and the choices you have.
Using the app without signing in
You can build a grocery list, use the cart and share the list without an account. That list stays on your phone.
When you sign in with Google
Signing in uses Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. We receive your name, email address and profile photo. We use them only to identify your account and keep your data in sync.
For signed-in users, we store the following in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your account:
- Favorites and Saved GLists
- Monthly budgets
- Bills you save in Upload GBill (the items, prices and totals read from the bill)
- Profile details you choose to add, such as your location
- A notification token, so we can send the reminders you turn on
Bill photos
Bill photos are read on your phone using Google ML Kit text recognition. We do not upload or store the photo. We store only the items and amounts that were read from it.
AI features
When you ask CulinaryBot a question or request an AI summary of your bills or budget, the question or the relevant list, bill or budget figures are sent through our server to an AI service to generate the answer. Do not include personal details in chatbot questions.
Location
The app asks for location permission only when you choose to pick your location. Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap.
Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and clicks.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your account and all data linked to it. See Delete your account.
